Trends in news agenda setting by the Sunday Times and Rapport in 2000

Hierdie artikel ontleed nuustendense in Suid-Afrika se twee vernaamste Sondagkoerante, naamlik Sunday Times en Rapport, in 2000. Die voor-blaaie sowel as die vernaamste nuusafdelings is kwalitatief en kwantitatief ontleed. Daar is onder meer bepaal dat Rapport meer voorbladdekking gee aan rugby, terwyl die Sunday Times politieke stories verkies. Albei fokus sterk op ‘human interest’ op bladsy drie, terwyl die Sunday Times duideliker prioriteit gee aan opvoedkundige en gesondheidsake. In die algemeen word die gevolgtrekking gemaak dat deur albei koerante te lees, lesers verskil-lende perspektiewe kry op Suid-Afrikaanse en internasionale nuusgebeure.
