In hierdie artikel word die kwessie van ekonomiese faktore en bes-tuursaspekte behandel wat ‘n besondere beeld bied op ‘n belangrike aspek van die Suid-Afrikaanse media wat nie dikwels in navorsing aan die orde gestel word nie. Die skrywer behandel die kwessie aan die hand van ‘n aan-tal gevallestudies en kom tot die gevolgtrekking dat media-regulering meer aandag moet kry om die kwessie van media-ekonomie tot sy beste aan te wend.
